PHARMACEUTICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE
The Department of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, established in 2021 in DCOP, has M Pharm in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, having intake of 15 students. The department is equipped with the state of art laboratories, ultra-modern facilities, which have been considered as the most sophisticated infrastructure. The department also offers training for research students seeking a PhD degree.
Quality assurance is one of the most important aspects of the entire pharmaceutical industry. Not only it helps companies protect their reputations, but it will allow them to avoid hefty penalties from regulatory organizations.
The purpose of pharmaceutical quality assurance is to ensure that the medication being manufactured will provide the desired effect to the patient. Quality assurance also guarantees that there are no contaminants present and that the medications will meet quality requirements and all relevant regulations.
- In first year of M. Pharm Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance course every student learns the concept of the Quality Assurance in the theory and practicals in the college provide necessary technical knowledge required in the pharmaceutical industry.
- In second year of M. Pharm student carry out the independent project which is relevant to pharmaceutical industry. In this project student performs necessary parameters which are required in the industry such as validation of analytical method, designing of formulation, analytical method development, handling of sophisticated instruments such as HPLC, FTIR and UV-visible spectrophotometer in view to maintain the highest quality standards in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical product. This project based learning trains and prepares students to make them industry ready.
This course concentrates at innovative, extensive and in depth knowledge for implementation of Quality Assurance provided by full-time research faculty with both academic and industry experience. It gives theoretical knowledge together with hands on experience in all areas that control the quality of product. The department is well equipped with sophisticated analytical instruments to carry out the research in quality assurance to meet the ever-increasing demands of the pharmaceutical market
